What are laser printer toners?
Laser printer toners are the powder used in laser printers and photocopiers in order to form the printed text and images on the paper. Laser printer toner is a fine and dry carbon-based powder mixed with a polymer, which is applied to the paper. The consistency of the powder is more like dust. A laser is used to burn the toner on the paper. The heats of the fuser melt the particles of toner which causes them to attach to the paper. The toner sticks to the paper in a particular pattern as the result of static electricity.
The toner composition differs according to the manufacturer as the particle size affects the resolution. It is believed that, the smaller the toner particles, the better the resolution is. The toner particles with more uniform sizes and shapes causes better colour of the images, which are being printed. Empty toner cartridges can be refilled by the vendor.
The advantages of laser printer toners are their quality, long printing life, speed, and efficiency of laser imaged applications. Laser toner cartridges are large, hold a substantial amount of toner, and can normally print at least 5,000 pages. The toner cartridge is more costly than an ink jet cartridge but laser printers have a longer printing life. Thus, if you print many documents, toner printers are a better choice for you.
